Default how to remove rear speaker deck 99 civic...?

hi guys i'm new here, i bought a 99 civic EX a couple weeks ago, and just bought some new 6x9 speakers to put in the rear deck (because the ones that come with the car are crap). Do I have to remove the whole damn rear deck to get the old speakers out? this is crazy. If so, how do i remove it? i have no owners manual or anything....can anyone tell me how this procedure is done? I would be very grateful. Thank you

Coupe or Sedan?

Here is how for the Sedan. Remove the bolt on each of the side bolster. That is the key. It's hidden in the crack between the bottom seat cushion. That's how the rear dash will come out. Once you get to that, the rest should be simple, and can figure out.

Post if you got more Qs.

I have a 2dr 98 dx, and when i installed my rear speakers, i had to actually remove the rear seats, because the bolt holding the side panels wasnt designed right(should have been a U rather then an O, so you could slide the panel up and out). was a real pain in the *** trying to get the side panels back on, and putting the seats back in.

If anyone knows a better way to do this please let me know, i need to remove my rear deck so i can get my windows tinted, cause i do not want a cutout for my brake light (looks gaye)

I recently replaced my 6x9 in my 99 EX 2dr, I didn't have to take the seats out, but yes I took the whole rear deck off. I can't remember exactly how, but I know it is held on by clips. From what I remember I had to pull the side panels off just a little bit to get the rear deck off. (but not too much) It was actually easier then I thought it was. And the side panels come off and go on with out too much a PITA.

Good luck
