if you dont want the hassle of getting a fix it.... buy the AEM.... i bought mines for cheap so i didnt really care.... but personally i would never ever pay the original price for an intake that ebay can give me for a small fraction of the cost...
go for it, buy the $30 CAI, it functions the same as the high price CAI

do you have an emissions check or anything in MN cause if so and u dont want to have to swap it out every time u go in then get the aem...if no emisions then go ebay
why even spend $30? just make your own. If your not caring so much about looks, just use dryer vent. its not that big of a deal. Ebay probably wants like $15 shipping on that too, so its like $45, and just get some dryer vent. Metal isn't the best thing to use, if you have time, make your own out of fiberglass.

nope not in MN we don't.
get the cheap one. AEM is just a name. Plus all their claimed HP gain is only in the "AEM Hump" on a dyno, its only between 4-5000 rpm. I made my own and it still cost over $50 with a K&N filter.
I think materials is what makes the difference
AEM uses powdercoating to help resist heat. The point of a cold air is it to be cold. The Ebay CAI works, but the AEM will work alittle better. At least the AEM is dyno proven, who knows what you get with the ebay.
but hey I did the ebay once, its all good. get the Ebay one. you seem like you dont wanna spend the $$$ on the AEM

Buy the $30 cheap intake, use the remaining $245 to buy a cheap muffler and get it put on. Trust me if your engine is stock, those things don't do too much .
Has any ever tried making their own intake? Like out of fiberglass, just make a form and make it out of fiber glass. And then sand it and powder coat it for heat reason. That way its the size you want, and then you can make it as big as you want as it comes off the intake. and then make make the tube go to the fender, like a ram air. Might be some work, but its like the same price at $30 + $15. And then its not metal, and its probably going to be better than the aem CAI. Just my .02
i ordered the civic ex $30 intake off of http://www.procarparts.com for my Si. I will have to cut it to fit. I have seen this done on an Si by someone i know. but the mounts may not work
Maybe i could make some
and if the filter sucks i'll replace it with the K&N. I will swap it on and off b/c down here... it is hot in the summer
