AEM VS. injen cold air intake
i dont trust numbers that the companies put up about there own products. I was woundering if anyone has used both or compaired with there own lead foot to which one is beter performance wise, but without being too annoying with a crappy sound. Thanks

your in seattle. so am i. stay away from cold air intakes. all it would do is suck up all the rain we get. and a intake is a intake. i would just stay stock with a K&N drop in that IMO

almost identical depending on which series you buy. if you go with either one you will be satisfied.

if you live in seatle, check out a sri. or get a bypass with your cai.
ebay has some cheap intakes but i would recommend aem since i think they come with oil-less filter which makes it easier to clean when it comes time to.

Re: (anavrin351)
CAI reach a lot closer to the ground when it is installed than a SRI does. Therefore, there are higher chances of your engine hydrolocking if you accidentally go into a puddle. A SRI is much shorter, and does not go anywhere near as low to the ground as a CAI does, that's why people are saying it's safer. I'm not sure how much rain you get in Seattle, but it does take a pretty deep puddle before your filter even gets soaked enough in water to cause your engine to hydrolock.

IT'S REALLY DIRTY RIGHT NOW...before i'd sell it i'd wetsand it and do whatever the buyer wants to the extension (ie: get it done in black to match the SRI or reploish it)

Re: (ATEJ8FTW)
i got a 2000 civic si, with a aem cold air intake, not the short one, the one that sits behind one of the tires. i would go with the aem, just because its probably a lil cheaper.

try doing a fluid change, it may help a little, but sounds like the synchro is going bye bye

I've had 4 different intake kits all on SOHC motors. Bet driving was on the drop in.

I agree.
I used 2 different intake systems before the drop-in filter...
I went a little further and cut the stock U-pipe resonator, to make a "J" shaped pick-up tube.
I also cut a sri arm and used that in place of the stock arm
I created a setup identical to the comptech piece for ~$40

Re:
I previously had this Cold Air Intake that was quite satisfying. But since I had a new car I don’t know if its still good these days.
