I think he means construction wise. I am pretty sure that all b16/b17/b18c5 valves are the same designs, only difference being weight/strength etc. But I think the shape and everything regarding interchangableness (word?) are the same.

I believe that the ITR valves are bigger...at least on the intake side.

Also the valve seats are different.

si/gsr/itr exhaust valves = the same. I just checked the part #s last week. itr/ctr intake valves are lighter which allows for 300 more rpm rev limit.

Autopedia had an article on the ITR and I believe the ITR valves are 33% lighter yet have the same strength as regular valves.

The B16 head and the Type-R head are made from the same casting, PR3. They both use the same exhaust valves. The Type-R intake valves are different: they are narrower near the head of the valve to promote better flow. I have two B16 heads that have Type-R intake valves installed on them, no problems. If you want to use your friends ITR exhaust valves, you will be fine. Have them installed professionally-get the seats redone and have the valves reground, your basic three angle valve job.

you only need to have the seats redone on the intake side since the seat angle is
different. the exhaust valves and seats are identical.

Type R EXHAUST VALVES are the same Part number as the B16 Exhaust Valves. The Intake side is Different, Larger and Lighter.

how many times does this have to be repeated for pete's sake.....
the intake valves are NOT LARGER, they are the same size.
