Default B-Series Engine Mounts

Would all B series engine mounts be the same? I need to replace the front mount that goes between the AC compressor and the block, and paying honda over 350 CDN for a new mount is too steep for me, and you don't see too many Si's in the scrap yards. I'm hoping I can use a B18B or a B20 mount in its place.

No they are not all the same.

Get an aftermarket prothane for 200.

I'm only concerned with the mount that sandwiches between the AC condenser and block though. I've checked out teh B18 one, and it LOOKS identical to the Si one, so I'm assuming that it would be the same. There'd be no sense for honda to have 2 similar yet different mounts made for an engine that's almost identical as it is.

yup, that's it.
The oem one is like a big D bracket, and is very spongy. I'd like to get stiffer bushings, but doing the one and leaving the rest is no good, and I don't feel like ripping apart all the mounts to relace them all, plus I don't want to buy them. I'd rather fix this problem for now

I am a little confused by your last post?

that mount is $30 U.S. from the dealer. I think the jim fab id less than $65 for the set. The ES inserts can be used with a stock broken mount with no problem

You can use those end pieces (the rubber that connects to the frame rail) from a D-series mount with the B-series AC bracket. Trust me, I have done it before

well looks like I'm off to the junkyard again. I hope I can find one that's in 1 piece.

Thanks

nope, that was the price for the whole mount, including all the bolts, the cast iron mount and bushing piece. It worked out to around $34x.xx canadian dollars.

Oh, you need the entire AC bracket? That's why it was so expensive. They priced out everything for you. No wonder it was $350 CDN. That AC bracket is like $120 US or so and the bolts are probably $5 a piece. Just that rubber piece should only be around $30 US and you should be able to just get that. If you already have the AC mount then you don't need that obviously. That's why the price was so high but that's what they cost. If you have the AC bracket then all you need is the rubber mount. I used one off a d series before. Same as b series.
