Default My new stopping stuff

With the help of my friends Cody and Anthony we installed my Brembo cross-drilled/slotted rotors, Goodridge stainless steel braided brake lines, funky named pads, and flat blacked my calipers. I had Hawk pads, but found out they were the wrong ones when we were almost completely done so I had to settle with Autozone metallic "sport" pads. I need to bleed them a few more times but it feels pretty good. I mainly went with the rotors for the bling bling factor if anyone wants to know why . Install was pretty straight forward. Nothing really hard to do but spend like 30 min on the passanger side rear pad install because I bent one of the clips and one stripped rotor screw which we drilled out . Besides that everything was pretty easy. And I replaced my bling bling chrome lug nuts with black ones.

My beat up stock rotors with 61,xxx miles and a few races on them.

If you look closely you can see where we tried to heat the rotor screw up with the blow torch .

I always have thought drilled/slotted rotors look cool as hell.

looks nice, but be prepared for minor flames.. maybe.

cross drilled and slotted rotors have been heavily debated.

They're not any better than stock rotors, but he did it for aesthetics not increased braking performance.

He's happy with them and that's all that matters.

bingo.

if anything at all he will now have minor (negligable) less surface area for the pads to cause friction on, but no real performance degrade...unless the rotors are heavier

Do you notice a BIG increase in stopping power with those? Are they worth the money?!?

he should have noticed a little stiffer pedal feel due to the lines and those pads should bite better than stock. otherwise, there is no difference. the rotors are worthless in terms of performance with todays pads on a street car. X-drilled is useless period for performance and slotted works nice on cars that race in the dirt...

I just got the same exact package, but with non-slotted brembo rotors. I haven't put them on yet though.

Since the slotted and x-drilled don't do much in terms of performance.... what is a recommended aftermarket rotor??? or is it better to just stick with the stock rotors??

autozone. 24.99 each for the fronts. stock or brembo blanks for the rear.

I'm very happy with the way they(rotors) look and happy with the performance of the brake lines. The rotors are a little bit noisy, but I don't know a single ITR owner that cares about how noisy their car is. The brakes "bite" a lot harder, but I still need to bleed them again today. I mainly chose the Brembo because they look cool as hell and they don't rust. Might as well replace something you'll be happy with.
And for those who ask were they worth it, worth relies in the buyer. To some the price of these rotors could have gotten me 2 or 3 sets of regular rotors, but that wouldn't make ME happy. In the end, I think they were worth it. No rust and bling bling .
