Default Pad and rotor install

Someone just told me that you shouldnt install pads and rotors at the same time, it could ruin the rotors

I put Brembo C/D rotors on w/ Axxis pads at the same time. No probs here. And they work great!

So you're supposed to keep the old pads for a while with your new rotors and then change? LOL! Or I guess you could put your new pads on, and swap rotors later. Also not likely.

Lightly sand the new rotor to get off any glossy layer from manufacturing (you might not have to do this depending on the rotor) and install the new pads. Make sure you properly bed the pads, let them cool, and you're good to go.

New pads and rotors at the same time is good. Sometimes there is a lip on the old rotors, and new pads will drag on them and make noise. New rotors have a coating on them so they dont rust while they're sitting on the shelf. Clean them with brake clean before install.

No, you can install new pads without new rotors everytime. Just check the rotors when you do to see if they should be replaced.
