attn: yoshi/kelly - RS Door Handle
I tried looking in the archives but couldn't find anything. I saw the IPS racing website's decription of how to remove the power switch but i was wondering with the RS door cover you don't need to do any cutting correct? all you have to do is remove the mechanism with the silver tab attached and just replace the whole cover right? Im going to order my replacement bumper and metal clip from A&H Racing. Im thinking of adding these to the order as well. Has anyone ever dealt with them? Thanks a lot.

My idea on it wasnt to remove the switch but to make it so you can still use the switch but not have it work against you when someone tries using it to break into the car
With the RS you just remove the old black plastic piece and unplug the wire harness from the switch then install the RS cover in its place and walla no switch.

Hey TypeRmsm
I was wondering why step 10 said still functional door lock hehe. Does the grip tape make it so that you can still press up and down to actuate the mechanism of the door locks? that's pretty smart. i'd rather not do any cutting to the OEM parts. thanks for the heads up.

Yellow Blur: The "other" method doesn't involve cutting any OEM parts either. All you do is hide the door lock actuator behind the RS cover. To restore back to original stock condition: screw this piece back on to your original door lock cover. Viola
Type RSMs version leaves the functionality of the Door lock in place, but without the Chrome plastic toggle.
Either way is a relatively easy way to prevent easy access into your car.
batmobile - who just noticed that JDM spec ITRs don't have power door locks. Now this mod will be bigger than the clockblocker

Yellow Blur yes that is why its still functional, I like the RS idea but still wanted the switches so i came up with that idea, the grip tape makes it easy to push up and down on the switch
yellow blur,
A&H Motorsports is a good place to deal with. Their shop is about 20 mins from my house in fact...
They have prices on stock Acura parts that blow the dealerships out of the water.
But the RS doorhandle thingies cost like $7.00 each from the dealer. Pretty cheap already. Just be sure you specify you want the covers for the manual door lock assembly.
Cheese~

Ed:
Call up Scott Miles at SouthCoast Acura ( http://www.socalitr.com/parts ) and tell him that you're from SoCal ITR and he'll give you the best price

I just ordered these from Acura; the warehouse is out and they are on backorder with an unknown delivery date!? Damn!...
Cheeseman, what do you mean by "be sure you specify you want the covers for the manual door lock assembly"?? Wouldn't you want the manual door locks accessible since you're removing the autolock/unlock switch?...

yeah...RS.
i'm officially changing the name of my RS handle covers from that to "lockblockers."
thanks for the headsup, batmobile. (:
it's prolly not worth the extra time and stuff to get these little badboys from south coast acura over a&h, so as long as they're not ridiculous there, i recommend getting it all at once, yb. gas $ just to get down to south coast would probably outweigh the benefits of saving the couple bucks, silly little green dino.
i actually had someone comment on my "lockblockers" the other day: " power locks aren't standard on that car?"
huhuhuhu....
-k-b0t, who played it off like he was cheap,...then explained..

for A&H motorsports. I have had the best customer services from them over and over. (past 5 years) There price is not the lowest, but their service is a top-notch.
What I meant is, be sure the RS handles you get are not for a 94 Integra with electric locks. You want the ones for the 94 RS which is like the only Integra ever to be sold with out electric locks....they had just the manual flipper type locks....
I was just saying that you will need to be very specific because a few people have ordered these things and have ended up with the wrong covers...thas all.
Cheese

yeah, thanks agian yoshi! i just ordered my "lockblockers" yesterday. should be here next week. looking forward to the weight savings.
after thinking about it, between the rear window wiper removal and the lock switch removal that should be about .5 seconds off my lap times.

Well,
All I did was unplug the lock mechanism (located right behind the silver ****). The ***** don't operate the locks anymore, and I just use my alarm to lock/unlock it. -C
