Power locks and security, you can have both. (56K, hope it's worth it)
Alright, I am going to keep this post as safe as possible. I don't want to educate stupid theives.
PLEASE DO NOT POST THE TRUE REASON FOR THIS!!!
If you are still wondering after reading and thinking about it, IM me.
Moderators and Admins will delete any posts within this topic or this post itself if it has to be cleaned up constantly, and have my support in doing so.
So, 1st things first. Disable that damn switch on the door.
Remove the lock cover with the screw behind the door handle.
Once you remove the screw you have the wiring for the door lock switch to remove.
Once you've disconnected the switch place the wires inside and put the cover back on.
Next, find a place to put a on-off-on switch. I prefer to use the plugs by the e-brake and armrest.
Just run the wires up past the shifter and underneath the center console, exiting the passenger side.
Next, locate the plug by the stereo reciever, used for keyless entry.
It is the smaller of the two
Once you have located that, locate the 3 wires used for lock input, unlock input, and ground.
They are Green/White, Green/Orange and Black (I wanted to put DUH here but realized some people don't know that black is the industry standard for ground/negative).
Cut and attach the three wires to the wires attached to the switch one at a time being there is little slack under the dash.
You can use crimp connectors but, I have always perfered to solder my wires and wrap them individually with electrical tape. (Will do a How-to post on soldering later this week.)
Once completed, wrap the wires neatly together and tuck them behind the console.
Now, here is the great part, notice the position of the switch and the position of the door lock in all three pictures.
This switch now does the others job. If you don't feel the need for power locks just unplug the switch.
Done.

IM sent. I am sure you would have figured it out if you just took a step back and thought about it.

Posting here to save this and do it next weekend...
Good tech info spade.
As a favor do you know which wires have to be hooked up to the stock headunit in order for the keyless entry to work, person before me installed an aftermarket headunit and didn't bury the stock one behind the dash.... IM me if you can, don't want to hijack the thread.

If you mean for you alarm, don't worry it will still work.
If you mean for the factory keyless, instead of cutting the wires from the plug, you splice them instead.
For those still learning: Splice is to take a wire and add another without breaking the exiting connection. Imagine a "T", joined at both connections and another connection added.

Thanks for the clarification.
I know there are others out there that are lazy and want to keep their keyless entry

I think if you replaced the piece that has the stock p/l switch with one that has no switch, you'd be better off. With the switch still there, someone might still try to take advantage of it, and end up messing something up.

i dont see the point in doing this mod.. i understand the intentions behind it, but i don't think it really deters anything.. dunno maybe i just dont get it completely
i think it would be good to make some sort of covers for the manual locks, along with this mod. i've been trying to figure out a way to do this for a while

I see your point...that switch is a constant power switch where it can be used with or without the key...why not hook up the wire to a "switched" circuit where it can only be used with the key turned on...saves time that way and serves the same purpose that you are trying to accomplish!!!

hey spade... if people dont know how to solder you probably shouldnt be teaching them. If you dont know exactly what your doing thats something you shouldnt do. Hot solder vs cold?? theres just to many aspect for people to truly be able to complete something that can be super intricate.

I have the locks inside my car disconnected. I don't have factory PL I just have an alarm with key less is this a bad thing? I can only lock or unlock my car from the outside using a key or the key less entry on my key chain. so I think I have accomplished the same think as you except you can still manually lock and unlock your doors from the inside.

Yup. I just wanted a switch so I didn't have to lean to the other side.
Top for the morning crew. BTW, this morning I had 16 IM's LoL. They just kept opening, made me laugh.
