Techedge WBO2 with Hondata
Has anybody been able to use the Techedge WBO2 with Hondata? They have told me that it has been done but don't know how they done it.Techedge don't know what kind of signal the factory/Hondata ecu needs to see.Hondata don't know what kind of signal the Techedge pice puts out.If any that has done this and made it work please let me know ASAP

search for posts created by gruvytune. he has the techedge set up and hondata and it has worked great for him. You have to tap into one of the wires going to the display to give the hondata modified ecu a voltage signal from the wideband controller.

I tried to find it but no luck. The only thing I have found was somebody else hooked a Techedge up to a AEM ems and got it to work.My WBO2 has that RS232 option that let's you do dataloging and it has two wires that come out of it.I just don't want to burn something up I have better things to waste money on like a fully built engine.

Here are the direction that I was able to find off of the Hondata website... http://www.hondata.com/techwidebandtuning.html

I was reading that but I wasn't sure what wire I use that comes off of the display readout. There is a bare wire and a shielded wire.I am guessing that the bare wire is the signal ground and the other one is voltage signal.Somebody correct me if I am wrong.PLEASE

I'm pretty sure that there is a diagram on the techedge site that tells you what those 2 wires are from...

I wrote them and they said that the two wires are a different signal than the ecu needs. So I am kind of lost now.Since I can't get a hold of anybody on this message board that has done this.Because it won't let me.If any body knows how to do this and made it work without burning up anything. If you can give me your e-mail or some way of getting in touch with you.PLEASE HELP

The techedge wideband supposedly has a linear 5 volt output that corresponds to an air fuel ratio. You have to open the display unit up and using a multimeter while the wideband is running to figure out which wires carry the voltage signal to the display. Once you figure out which wire it is you need to wire it to the o2 input on the ecu. it is pin D14 on obd-1 ecu's. In order for the hondata to read it right you will have to switch to open loop. Once in open loop and being fed a 0-5 volt voltage the hondata in conjunction with a laptop will be able to display air/fuel ratios directly from the wideband. Then the hondata software has to be calibrated to the techedge output. Under settings click on the lambda tab and then click on edit conversion table. then enter the values that represent the output voltage v. air/fuel ratio for the techedge controller. After that is completed you should be reading the same air/fuel ratios on your display and also on your laptop.
If you have trouble identifying the wires that you need to run from the controller to the ecu contact falc0n on this board. He is using the aem ems but they will use the same wires from the controller. One of his threads that explains it somewhat is here. There is a diagram of how it is wired on one of the pages.

The Techedge v1.5 has a narrowband O2 out for your ECU in addition to the output for the display. Just drag a wire.

Re: Techedge WBO2 with Hondata (racerxadam)
ok. I got this giant pic from the techedge website. Here is the link for the page http://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/wbo2/5301.htm
and here is the pic and the text associated with said pic.
"Here's the solder side of the lower (CPU) board. Note the use of the cable tie to anchor the two cables. Top cable is power, GND and Vout (in) Bottom cable is RS232 out and GND. " -Techedge Website
Vout is the wire that you need to identify and route to the input for the hondata modified ecu to read correctly. Then it is just a matter of entering the correct values in the conversion chart in Romeditor.

Re: Techedge WBO2 with Hondata (racerxadam)
So I want to follow the short cable that goes into the laptop etc?Because I have taken apart the DB9 connection off of the short lead and there is a red wire and a bare ground wire.I take it I run the red+signal wire into the Honda wiring /ECU correct? What do I do about the signal -ground?
