Default Resistor Box Necessary????

hmmm. i put my 450cc dsm squirters in and they seem to work fine so far. just wondering what the resistor box does and why people use them if they work without it? i guess it has a LITTLE, hardly noticeable choppy idle SOMETIMES, but other than that, all good, woudl the box help the idle smooth out a bit? thanks

You are asking you computer to supply more current, which can over drive you ecu and fry it. You still have the same voltage, higher resistance, and more current.

Ohms law is V= R * I or I= V/R

As resistance in your injectors is lower, then the current will increase. Dont to it man, I dont care how "smooth" your idle is, dont do it.

what he said.

eventually you'll fry the output transistors in your ECU.

how good will your idle be then?

you probably just have rc injectors then, i doubt you have the dsm's with no resistors, if you do i cant believe your ecu hasnt fried yet.

It depends on the system. Some standalones like Hondata, Zdyne, and the AEM EMS require a resistor box. The Haltech does not. It can drive either type of injector.

DFI has injector drivers to run peak/hold or low impendence style injectors.

If anyone needs injector resistor boxes or clips, i have 3 sets of them for sale. 40 shipped for the resistor box and injector clips or 25 shipped for the box and 20 shipped for the clips.
