New headlights are around $350 each side for a G3. Im sure the blinkers are ~$100.

Wet sand it then polish it. Comes out to look pretty much like new. I think it was like 400 or 800 grit.

Yeah, what kind of polishing are we talking about here??? I'd use finer than 400 grit, maybe 1000.

theres been several threads on this.. some listed to use plastic polish.. 3M Rubbing Compound.... others said to use glass polish.. some said to wetsand it starting from a higher grit.. then down to a real fine grit... and someone even mentioned using toothpaste..

I haven't personally tried any of this.. but let me try to find the links for you.. hold up..

EDIT: found these in a search..

there is some stuff called Nu-Lite that I used on my mustang headlights. I guarntee you it will do better than anything listed. You'll need to take the front clip off to take the headlights off, but its worth it. Its acid that eats all the yellow and stuff off then its got a polish with it. I ordered mine from Mustang Part Specialties.

http://www.stangparts.com/home.cfm?s...products/index
click on Lights, and its on page 4. Its called Nu-Lite

If you plan on using the sandpaper method (it works) start with at least 1500 and work up to 3000. then polish with an orbital. Be careful not to burn them!

I would be careful with wetsanding if you don't know what you are doing

You should be able to get great results just with a good polish (3m plastic polish, car polish, etc). Toothpaste has abrasives in it, so it acts like a polish.. but the consistancey is pretty poor so I would stick to something automotive related.

If the outside needs polishing try a Scratch remover or Glazing Compound or a mild abrasive kitchen cleaner. I apply scratch remover or glazing compound on the glass and wipe it off when I am waxing the car. Works well.

You can try clean compressed air to blow out any dirt of inside.

I just used toothpaste on mine a week ago and it WORKS! Looks just as new and shiny as my other one. Before you go out and buy something, try regular toothpaste. I used a thick paper towel to apply and buff. The results definitely surprised the hell out of me.

[QUOTE]Follow this process.... worked great on my 95 DC (r.i.p)

Materials you will need:

1. 3M 1000 grit sand paper.

2. any type of car polish.

3. any type of car wax.

4. a tupper-ware bowl filled w/ water ( if you know about wet-sanding ... u see where im going w/ this)

Procedure:

1. Remove you headlights off the car .... Yes we know takn' off the bumper is ever stonners nightmare!

2. Fold you 3M and wet it in the tupper-ware bowl and start sanding your headlights in a circular motion for atleast 10-15 min. on each light. Feel free to wet the sand paper time 2 time.

3. Assuming you're done w/ all the lights you will notice that all your headlights look like ****. Don't worry you have just done the 1st step.

4. Now time for the polish. You want to use the polish 1st since it is somewhat abrasive. Polish each light for about 5 min. each.

5. Asumming you are done polishing all the lights, Time 2 wax. It is the same process as the polish.

6. Put the **** back on your hooptie and voila' you lights look brand new .... and you saved atleast $200 bones ..... and if you got the cash get some new bulbs

I did this to my Supra headlights with 1500 and then 2000 grit paper followed by plastic polish, and everyone thought the lights were brand new. Certainly worth a try if your gonna go spend 400+ on new lights
