Default idle air control valve problem.

So last night my check engine light came on. Car would stall anytime i was below 1krpms. I pulled the codes from Hondata and got code 14. idle air control valve. So i took it out, cleaned it with brake cleaner and put it back on. Car ran good for 5 min. After giving it full throttle and going full boost the light came back on and once again i cant get full boost. The car runs on 110 octane Leaded gas (tuned) So i was wondering why the light would come on again after running good for 5 min. I will probably take it off tomorrow again and either put my spare on on or clean this one again. Any suggestion on what else it can be?

The codes don't lie... make sure that the lines are hooked up to the IACV, and you have no leaks. If that checks out, I would put the spare one on that you have. I believe coolant flows to it through one of the lines, if you are not getting a sufficient amount of coolant, it will cause your idle to surge normally. But in your case, it doesn't sound like that's the problem, but it's something to think about.

how much boost are you running? check the seal between intake manifold and iacv..... if you are running alot of boost you could have cracked the diaphram inside the iacv... try and replace whole unit.

is there a way to adjust the iacv? One looks to be in the closed position and the other in an open position. What possition should it be in.

The coolant just passes through the bowl on the bottom.
A.f.a.i.k it's only there to heat the eacv during winter time (cold air might freeze it up).
I have mine disconnected and the coolant bypassed.

Since you tried 2 eacv's with the same result, I wouls suspect bad wiring/connector or your ecu going bad.

Check out the serivce manual on how to diagnose the problem.
