Oil loss out of dipstick tube?
My dealer is saying that because the dipstick tube wasn't properly put in, our engine lost enough oil to cause the bearings to sieze and that we need a new motor. They also cite an aftermarket filter. So they won't cover any of the damage under warranty.
This all sounds like bullshit to me (especially the filter and new motor part). Anybody agree?

I wouldn't cover it either. You should check your oil often. If your only leak was the dipstick tube, then the oil must have been leaking for a LONG time for it to be destructive.
Here's a thread concerning the tube, or t00b

It wasn't a slow loss of oil, but a sudden loss. There is oil All over the car, the bumper, the rear fenders...

Thanks guys, good to hear they might be wrong about the whole dipstick part. Actually what they said was aftermarket was the oil filter, which was a Fram. Geez, they're using every little excuse aren't they?
I've talked to Honda Corporate, and they've opened up a case for me and a case manager will be calling me. Wish me luck...
