Default test pipe or cat?

Im looking for everyones opinions on this, would a test pipe be extremly loud? I was going to go with a cat from random tech but thought a testpipe might be a decent money saving idea that would produce equal power.

i haven't had a test pipe with an exhaust, so i dunno

I have a test pipe and header now...but no exhaust...so I couldn't tell ya how loud it's gonna be

but your gonna have to find something to do with your 2nd O2 sensor also

CAT! It's just not worth polluting the atmosphere for 0.5 HP.

I've got a 2.25" straight pipe from headers back with a Tenzo R dual-tip muffler. The oxygen sensor is still at the front.

My **** is LOUD. Not only is it loud, it makes an odd rattling whistle at certain rpms. I set off car alarms even if I drive by at low throttle. WOT is nuts. Sounds like an F1 car on crack going underneath overpasses.

I lost some low-end torque, but gained some fair high-end horsepower. I'm currently seeking a high-flow cat so I can pass local emissions testing.

mine also makes weird noises at different RPMS...my custom built 26" test pipe is probably the cause of most though...lol

i dunno bout accords...but i've heard a 91 prelude minus a cat with full i/h/e and that car purred nicely...not too loud and it had a nice even tone all the way through the rpm's...but this is a prelude and not an accord...so i dunno if there would be a difference or not!

Why the test pipe? I would want the exhaust out as soon as possible unless its blowing straight into the cabin.

you'd gain a little more than that...it's more restrictive than you think!
