Default 4g63 Civic hb, Why??????????

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

It's acutally a pretty cool build/race car, but why not stick with the honda engine. I know that DSM's have a lot more torque, but still it like a supra jz engine into a mustang gt in my opinion. I know some one has covered this before, but I though you guys would like to see it/talk about it again.

people have been putting cheap powerful engines into cheap light cars forever.

thats pretty much the basic concept of hot-rodding.

why not?

its not like he ruined a totally sweet car. haha . we might all like honda engines a lot more, but whatever.

Gay in my opinion. You can make just as much power with a built boosted single cam and save yourself a lot of time and effort by not putting a motor like that in. Must have just been one of those.."look what I got" things.

Although I support anything that moves quick, I don't support the kinda of people hinted to, the people that do it for show. If the rims don't hint to the bad taste, the blue civic in the last pic really hits it home.

OBRJosh, maybe you should hold your head out the window while sideswiping a mailbox, or read some other threads. Theres plenty of 300+whp sohc's here, one of them made 335whp with a bone-stock head. 2000lb cars don't need torque, they need traction. They also need engines that hold up, which sohc's with a clean build do better than DSM's. Did I also mention a build d16 is still cheaper than any other option?

That's just 2. There are countless on here. Evans Tuning made 409whp @ 29psi on a completely stock block with head studs and some 440s. And I bet all of these Ds don't have solid motor mounts!!!!!! OwNaGE!!!!!!

Not really a "sleeper" being that it is completely gutted and has a ridiculous intercooler. But I give him props for doing it.

so a d16y6 is gonna make as much power as a built 4g63... oookkkk

the 4g63 is a relatively simple swap. just fab some mounts and thats it really.

Yeah it spike to 29 psi and made like 409whp or something stupid like that.

Oh and 440s will NOT support 400+hp, neither will a stock block Z6!!!!!!

Its only really cool if it has the awd drive train in it also - if it doesnt have that there is no point to that swap.
