Default Hey, you guys have any experience with stroker kits?

I mean, is it good? bad? i have a b18, and i was checking out the crower website, and it says its stroker kit will up it to 2.1L... does this cause more wear on the motor or does do nothing but good? 2.1 seems like it can produce a hella lot of torque! should be able to boost high too right? after the stroker kit?

I thought that the crower stroker was pretty much good for limited life. meaning not lasting for more than a say 40 runs. From what I heard a while back (hearsay) the stroker kit lacked longevity. It would wear down fast. basically it would kill the block. I dont know if this is true or not.

sort of true. The added stroke throws the rod ratio off, making a decent situation bad. In the one that I saw, it destructed. The side load force was so strong, it actually deformed the wristpin area on stock ITR pistons. It didn't make much torque or power anyway. I'd go with a larger bore instead.

yeah the change in the rod ratio is putting more stress on the block then was designed for, so it will not last accordingly

I always thought reenforcing the cylinder sleeves was a good idea, especially with the side load on the initial stroke upward. yeah, I agree with the larger boring. I like the new golden eagle sleeves, they allow for that extra displacement. i really don't like the crower products which have come out for imports. they suck IMO.

I wouldn't hate on all crower stuff but their stroker "kit" leaves much to be improved upon. Just bore out a little while getting your block sleeved. 2 birds, one stone... 18 psi well a little more than that
