Default anyone have a successful turbo h22?

I'm in the process of dropping my new h22a into a '97 cx hatchback, and I'm going to turbocharge it within a month or so. Does anyone have a similar setup, or at least a turbo h22? I'm converting over form a turbo b18c hatch, and I wanna go all out drag. A lot of people seem to say that the pistona are really weak on the h22... anyone doe it successfully? Pull some good numbers? I'm looking to stop all over my old b18c turbo hatch setup... any thoughts?

expect to replace pistons within 6-8 months. would recommend you build the motor
before you install it if you are serious about it

yes, any boost will break the pistons.

well, since you've been kind enougfh to tell me I've done the wrong thing.... wy don't you give me the reasons why.

I've always thought that more sidplacement = better, and the turbo will respond better to a bigger motor (as long as the motor is built to handle it)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the world's fastest civic doesn't use a b-series motor (you all know who I'm talking about)... granted he doesn't use your everyday fuel, but the point stands that he's using an h23

don't listen to the b series turbo *****. the h22 has a lot of potential, as many have shown. there are a few common downfalls to boosting it, starting with the stock pistons, but sleeve it, throw in some forged internals and a standalone, and you'll be a happy camper. of course, you will have spent 5-10 grand including the turbo.......

thanks man... I know that papadkis (sp?) uses it for a reason. I already have the full turbo kit, so I figure i'll boost conservatively while I save for sleeves/pistions/rods/rings/bearings/headwork

Hope you have enough money saved up before the pistons break.

yes do sleeves and pistons first
also its true almost all of the fastest Honda use the H-series
yes, but these are full blown race cars. Little bit different than a street car. A b series can provide you with all the power you'd need for a street car.

The issue here is about turboing an h22a, like who has one, what is their setup, how much boost, and how long have they had it, not whether or not he should get a b-series motor and turbo that. So, like the title says "anyone have a successful turbo h22" ? I support you bro, the h22 is the "HONDA BIG BLOCK" and it has been good to me!

I am welding my piping up tomorrow and plan to install next weekend. I will let you know how my h22 handles the boost! (10.6:1 CR!!!) Good luck with yours.

I'm not saying he shouldn't do it, I'm just saying it would be easier with a B series. Just one man's opinion, I've done a turbo H22, in an Accord no less, it rides out pretty damn good!
