what rpm range do you have to get to hit VTEC on a f22 engine?

Let's beat this dead horse a little bit longer
Vtec is not completely controlled by RPM, the ECU compares other things such as engine load, speed, engine temp, and finally RPM.

you can make vtec engage as low as the low 3k's, and can take it to near redline without engaging it.

the SOHC vtec was really designed to be more economical than DOHC, and thusly there isnt such a huge power surge. DOHC vtec was designed to make the car peppier. SOHC was designed to allow the engine to operate very economically unless otherwise needed

who gives a crap...vtec was designed for fuel economy in mind...and unless you have a DOHC, your vtec isnt doing much for speed.
