...the AP2 began in 2004, not 2005. Both have a 6,000rpm vtec engagement point.
For future reference...
AP1 = 2000-2003
AP2 = 2004+

The AP2's VTEC engages at 5800-6000 depends on how hard you're beating on it. The only difference between an 04 and 05 model is that the 05 comes with pigtails for headrest speakers already set up under the seats.
