Just a little tip for you s300 guys running the MSD 3 bars...
Just a little useful information for you guys out there running the hondata s300's and the msd 3 bar map sensors.
They are very hard to get working 100%. After speaking to MSD I got all the information needed in order to calculate the proper scalar and offset values. Even though mathmatically I calculated them, I still got an irradic idle (up down 300ish rpms), fluctuating air/fuels, and inconsistant manifold pressure readings in relation to the boost gauge.
After throwing on a motec 3 bar it worked fine, the stock works fine, and I even tested out another brand new MSD.
I saw this problem also recognized on the hondata website and I am going to try to get to the bottom of this and investigate a bit more on the scalar/offset values but I thought I would point it out to you guys so you don't run into problems when you are looking to have your units tuned.
The MSD 3 bars are the ones sold by lightening motorsports from what I have been told. They work fine though with the s100/s200 units however... just not perfectly with the s300's.

It came to my attention yesterday that MSD actually uses a Neetronics sensor. At least that is what I was told. I am going to test the theory, but this MSD or rebadged sensor in general is giving us the same problem.

Thanks for checking before I did.
I would like to know what the fix is also, I have 5-6 customers running the MSD/SVE/whoever 3 bar sensor on S300s and all have the same problem.
With no avail I contacted MSD about 2 weeks ago and got horribile customer service and no help.
Let me know if there is anything I can do.

They were pretty helpful when I called. The customer picked his car up this afternoon so I did not have any further time to try and trouble shoot this issue. I think overall it's just easier to run a true GM or MoTec 3 bar and call it a day

I have to agree 110%. Customers just need to pay for the MoTec and be done. They are calibrated correctly as well as the Neetronics.
