Default Caliper clearance issue.

I'm was about to wrap up my 96 spec 4 lug to USDM 5 lug swap, until I ran across a problem (grrr....) After putting the front rotor and caliper on, I noticed that the caliper bracket had no clearance on the front side of the rotor and was scrubing it. So far these are the possibilities I have come up with. First, it could simply be the wrong rotor (don't think so .... autozone part # 3296). Second, it could that I received the wrong calipers (Acura part # 06453-SM5-505RM). Third, maybe my brother-in-law didn't press the hub all the way into the knuckle? Lastly (and the worst), the knuckles are different or the ITR hubs aren't as thick as the 96 spec ones (both of these I regard as highly unlikely). PLEASE if anyone can add to this or offer their advice on what the most likely possibility is I would greatly appreciate it as I'm trying to wrap this thing up.

Although I don't want to do spacers, could I somehow do it ?

Also, does the 96 spec have a 15/16 or 1" brake master cylinder?

As far as I know, the 96 spec, 98 spec, and USDM ITR knuckles are all the same. Right?
I mean the USDM GSR shares the same knuckle as the USDM ITR, so why would the 96 spec be different since its basically a GSR brake setup (this is my logic in the matter).

Here is an example to back up my logic.

If anyone definately knows otherwise please tell me before I spend more $$ on something that's not the issue.

But to answer your question, no I'm not for the above reasons.

I have spoken to a person who runs a shop in Canada that I bought my JDM 16's from. He said that the 96 spec knuckle is in fact different from USDM in the fact that the caliper mounts have less offset. Can anyone confirm this? TIA

the caliper and rotor part numbers you have up there look correct, so if anything at all, i think you just proved it to yourself.
