thats why my set is rev limited at 8600...even though i make power past 9k...i have a fluidampnr too...high redline more prone to spin bearings then in terms means motor rebuild

Why are you reving your stock LS motor to 7500 rpms? It stops making power way before that...

so in the 1/4mile in 4th gear i will be going 97mph at 7000rpm. that sucks if you are hoping to break 100mph in the 1/4. my goal is to run a 12.9 so ill need to shift into 5th gear to make a pass at 105 mph. the b16 tranny will suck for top end. thats why i said to rev up to 7500 and that way you wont loose any time shifting into 5th and hitting the end of the track in 5th gear.

i have a stock ls with a b16 tranny on 24.5" slicks making 240~ whp. i trapped 106 at the top of fourth but was running out of gearing at the very end of the track in fourth
(7300 fuel cut off). i ran a 13.0@106mph. so yeah, a b16 tranny sucks for a stock ls motor.

yeah i think thats whats going to happen. what about if you rev to 7500 in 4th and get rid of that rev limiter. it cant make much less power. it would be better than shifting into 5th
