stripping interior...how do i get rid of this?!
what is this damn tar sound proof crap. its really awful. Anyway, been scraping at with a screwdriver but really I need to like watch TV and drive my car and things, i cant be scraping this crap for three weeks.
try dumping some different chemicals on it, goof off, gasoline, going to try turpentine. Tried some cleaning chemicals that dont seem to do crap either.
someone suggested dry ice and then peeling it off a lot easier after freezing it. Been considering a wire wheel on my rotary. any other bright ideas before i blow myself up?

Thank that person, its the best way... pulled the tar out of a few cars in less than 45 min each and SUPER clean.

Do use the dru ice , it makes it a 5 minute job and there´s no mess. I did mine some time ago and it was very easy with the dry ice , the tar breaks up into large pieces after you hammer on it with a chisel lightly.

No stains , no mess , no nothing

Ya, just cover the tar... you can HEAR it start to harden and pop up, some you can just pull up by hand. I wore 2 sets of rubber gloves to keep my hnads from "burning" on the dry ice. Once you have it up, you can clean up the SMALL left overs with some gas.

I covered all the tar with a thin layer and let it work for some time (can´t really remember how long) , then tap it with a hammer and chisel to break it up. Then you can usually pry it up with your hands , be careful with the hammer at first since things are pretty brittle at those temps. and wear gloves , you don´t want to touch the dry ice with your bare hands

Yeah, the dry ice works wonders!
Use acetone, acetate, or any paint thinner to get the final film off before repainting.
I used a heat gun and screw driver the first time... My hands were covered with tar for days. This method is no fun
