Default Stock sleeves and 1 bar?

I did a search and couldn't find anything, and I know it has been discussed before. Is it worth spending the $800-900 aftermarket sleeves if you only plan on running 1 bar? Will the stock sleeve handle it?

So if I had Golden Eagle sleeves I would be able to drive insane? Like 20 strait minuts of boost??????

I guess what Im asking if the stock sleeves will be **** to craking under almost 15 psi of boost all the time? I will also do this only with Hondata so the tuning will hopfully be just right.

If you have gem sleeves and the engine detonates bad, something else will end up failing like valves pistons or rods. also, Engine temps gets pretty high with long periods of high boost.

What is usually the cause of cracking a stock sleeve?

might as well be safe and get it sleeved...then you dont have to worry, engine rebuilds get expensive(from personal experience.)

If I were to have my block sleeved would I be able to not worry about the sleeves when running it hard for long amounts of time?

Get it resleeved and it will hold from cracking, however please do not forget fuel too. The sleeves may hold up but somethign else might go, if its running lean.

I don't think there is any way I can get my block sleeved. Its just to much down time. Im going to have to ake a vaction from work to just build my block.

The pistons I want are the Endyn Roller-wave, they comes in 81mm & 81.5 mm. Would taking the .5mm off of the stock sleeve still be safe? Or would it be alright to just keep the 81mm bore of a motor with 87,xxx miles on it?

Blockguards are not very beneficial as it promotes heat and invites detonation and at higher boost levels the sleeves will actually balloon outwards. (pssst search!)

I love when people ask this question.

Anyway with a programable computer and good tuning of course a honda block will hold 28psi with stock sleeves. This was in a race car with race fuel.

But for the street 15psi is all i would use. Anything more is to much boost for the street. You will spin every gear.

Make sure you get a dfi, haltech, aem, etc.. AND A GOOD FUEL SYSTEM.
"meaning big lines, external pump, reg, big injectors, etc...

Honda motors usually break because of bad tuning or lack of fuel system.
oh and broken oil pumps
