Who would be interested in the AEM Plug and Play Computers ? And what are your opionions on it? Looking to do a group buy on them for all the HT people. Reserves your now. We will be the first ones with them .
Shoot the questions here. And what price have you guys gotten? Im talking in the 1400 range.

It can be found for $1400. Installation is removing the stock ECU and placing this one in its place ( cost $0, time 10 minutes). So I hope $480 in tuning implies a lot of dyno time.
Ok here go the questions:
How do the tuning capabilities of this system compare to the ones of Haltech E6K
and Hondata stage 4B?
Also Is there anything that the aem system offers that haltech and hondata don't??
What kind of recording time do you get with the logging feature, how many chanels?
Up to how much boost will the system work with??
Does it have any of these features: launch RPM, overall rev limit, changing your VTEC point, set your full throttle shift, detonation control??
How many Tuneable points does it have?
Thanks and sorry for the bombarding questions......
i would be intrested .......... does it work with the ignition as well? and would i still need my boost controller?
so whats the difference between this and the hondata 4B that makes it worth the extra loot?

Here are my questions:
How does this system compare to the SpeedPro?
I am looking for 500whp and 10s....is this computer going to allow me to have the ability to fine tune as the SpeedPro does?
Should I go with the RACE version?
What kinda price for the RACE version?
What wiring is involved in the RACE version?
When will this be available?
Thanks-Jason

So this is a standalone unit or a piggyback?
What applications is it available for?
How many places/shops are capable of tuning this unit since it is relatively new?

For that much money, I'd rather get a TEC II standalone. Easier to tune and runs with the factory ECU, so you don't have to worry too much about all the secondary systems. The TEC runs the engine, and the factory ECU runs everything else.
AEM tuning capabilites are better then haltech. I dont know much about hondata, But haltech you can tune from increments of 500 RPM. On the AEM unit you can better finely tune it because it is in incremetns of 200. Dont get me wrong, I aint knocking haltech or hondata, I'm also a dealer for Haltech. Haltech and AEM are both great systems. The only difference b/t the AEM PnP system and haltech is that, on haltech no matter what you application you will need to run a new wiring harness which you have to buy from haltech and a map sensor(which isnt included in the 1,100 price but everyone thinks it is.)
As far as logging features You can use as many channels as you like, but for most of you im sure that the more channels you use the more Ram you suck up. AEM comes with a little more then half a GIG of ram. (512k)
As far as boost is concerning you can push as much boost as you want, as long as your fuel setup is good (eg. injectors and fuel pump). As far as i believe, which I could be misinformed, hondata stage4 has a limit on boost.
Well here are some other features of the AEM ECU
-User configurable Windows software
-Onboard Datalogging
-Comes with complete libraby of tuning tips and system design
-User programmable inputs and outputs
-Up to 10 cylinder sequential fuel injection with individual cylinder trim
-Up to 10 cylinder wasted spark distributorless ignition with individual
cylinder trim
-Boost control
-Comprehensive Nitrous control
-Twin O2 sensor closed loop control (Wide range, and UEGO)
-Comprehensive easy to follow wiring instructions
-Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) feedback
-Idle motot control
-Extensive Electronic Automatic transmission control capability
-16/32 high speed processor
-User friendly manual
-Twin knock sensor control

Piggy system- A secondary ecu that is working with an existing ecu.
Standalone sytstem- NO other ecu except one!!!

This is a standalone ecu, You can take your factory ecu and put it away or sell it to someone who wants it. For applications take a look here
Please note that this is for the Pnp system. As with the race version it can be put on any car!!

FYI- you can dl a sample version to paly around with it.

Well you can configure the TEC II it to be a standalone, but IMO the less tuning the better. If you can eliminate tuning things, then it'll be easier for you. I understand the difference between a standalone and a piggy-back, but if you can get the factory ECU to take care of the garbage stuff, then why not?
the system is 1,800 direct from AEM, it's a stand alone system and the only difference between the race and the street version is that the race version doesnt have preset programs...
