Default installed apexi sohc kit on my b18b :)

WHERE SHOULD I SET MY TIMING AT? my car kinda bogging from 1k-2k rpms

well this install only took 5 hours and the modifiying only took about 1.5-2 hours.

dude this thing spools at 2.5-3k haha crazy ****.. but u can't hear my car spool up should i run w/ out the intake and filter and just run mess? here are pics of it installed very nice no leaks hahah the best part is i didnt have to buy any extra parts to make it fit.. fits nice w/ no leaks. i just gotta fix my timing..

where should i set my timing at? cuz its lagging right now.. well here are pics. enjoy! thanks glagola for all ur help and charliemoua also for putting up w/ all my ?'s and espcially my friend lim that helped me out alot on my install and everything. i still dont see how u would use the hks b series mani though charlie lol..

should i keep the filter/intake or just put a mess screen on the turbo?

all in all im very satisfied w/ this kit..

looks awesome, i wish i would have picked up the apexi kit for my car instead of greddy b/c of the ball bearing turbo... and the fact that it forces me to get a standalone... looking good! keep the filter!

Jeeez, those pics looks like they're from the 50s! Have you not got some fresh n clean ones?

Anyway, I would def put a filter on it, if not at least a mesh before the blades gets shreads to pieces should debris get in there!

Not sure on spool, but using mesh to get more spool isn't worth destroying the turbo.

Why don't you turn up the wastegate spring? It'll make about 8psi on that spring... You'll never hear 4psi spool...'cause that ain't sh*t man.

Get a couple 10mm spanners and shorten the wastegate arm by about 2mm and see how much boost you get. I bet you'll see 6psi. Adjust as necessary.

I can't tell you where to set your timing because I have no idea what kind of engine management you are running. Looks like you have no timing control and a fmu for fuel. If that's the case, you should retard your timing about 1* per lb of boost. If you are running 4psi set your timing to 11*btdc to be safe. It's possible your car is running rich down low and that's why it's bogging.

im running fmu/fuel pump/ missing link imma try to turn up the boost today using my profec b i want at least 8-10 psi but damn the fmu disc is only 10:1

oh and the hks bov is it supposed to sound like turbo surge? lol cuz i loosened it and still sounds the same. wait which way is lose and tighten on an hks bov? haha

leave filter and intake on, mesh screen is not a good idea, only a last resort.

Keep the filter I've seen too many people with screens or mesh still get crap in there turbo's nothing lamer than ruining a low mileage or great running turbo and jacking it all up because a 25 cent peice of mesh falls off do to street debris or road rock's yike's !!!! As far as the turbo lag problem take it to a shop thats good with turbo application's and have it tuned or fixed sounds like your almost there and have done most of the work that would cost alot .
