Distrubutor install
Is it neccesary to find TDC when replacing the would distributor housing with a new one? Can just take note where the old distributor was, install the new and check the timing? Any help would be cool . BTW this is on a d16z6 sohc engine.

Just eyeball where the other dist. was. Hondas adjust automaticly with the ecu anyways so if your a little off, you will not hurt anything. The only real way to do the timming is with a light though. And yes, they only go on one way.
Ok cool. I guess i'll install it and then drive up to autozone and set the timing there since i don't have a timing light. Thanks for all the help. One more thing, when i disoconect the battery will there still be power stored in the coil? if so how would i ground it? I don't want to get shocked.
I got it installed and everything seems to be cool. I turned it untill it smoothed out, about where the old one was. I'm still going have my timing checked. Since i'm doing this should i go ahead and have it advanced a few deg? I have: aem intake, greddy header, and apex n1 catback. Would i benifit any from this? Thanks.
