b16a sir II into 91 crx si electric vss or cable
I have a 91 crx si I'm putting a b16a sir II engine into. It has a p30 ecu. I had the harness made by rywire. The problem that im running into is the lsd trans with this swap uses an electronic vss sensor while my crx uses a speedo cable. The harness rywire made does not appear to have the connector for the vss. So do I need to get an sir cluster and also wire up the vss so my vtec and everything works correctly? Does anyone manufacture an aftermarket elec. vss/speedo cable combo? I know I can slide my cable in the elec. vss if I take it apart but Im not sure if this is the correct fix? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Yea I know I can do that and make my speedo work but I'm more concerned with making the engine work correctly. I believe this engine needs vss signal for a few of the engine functions. Anyone else have any ideas?
all you need to do is get rid of the electronic vss and use a cable style vss, then plug your stock cable into that. or if you think you can make the electric one work, well by all means go that route. the cluster converts that input from the cable into an electric output that is sent back to the ecu via a red/yellow wire i believe it was. you don't have to wire in anything extra. its already a part of the stock harness, and therefore it remains after the conversion harness is added.
