adjusting shift rpm in an auto trans....
You can adjust them by pushing on the gas pedal more or less; that will increase and decrease (respectively) the shift rpm.

buh hahahah
f'n retarded
Why are you trying to alter the shift points?
96 and lower have a TCU which I'm sure could be modified somehow software wise, something that's probably not made by anyone
96 up have the TCU integrated into the ECU so chipping it may be an option to change them
If you truly are trying to be a moron, holding your car in 1,2,D3,D4 is the closest you'll get to actually controlling the shift points as each holds the represented gear until moved.

If you tighten it all it will do is be as if your pedal was pushed down more, it will not affect your shift points.

NO,theMORONman, i want to lower itthe way you lowered it like on transmissions that have a vac. modulator. All i want is so that the gears shift sooner,so it won't kick when it automatically shifts at a higher rpm.

fk man.... all my gears shift at 6000 rpm.
and yes it's an automatic.

You're a genius. How you possibly made it to 39 I have no idea. I appreciate you trying to insult me - better luck next time?
So if you looked around you'd find out that the transmissions are kind of known to have a jump and shift harshly if that's what you're referring to with the "kick"
Unless you either
- Are a computer science/electrical engineering major, have experience programming car TCU's , and are capable of doing any type of work like that
- Have gobs of money and pay someone to do that for you
Good luck butter cup.

Mr Hondadude posted this before he was banned from this website;
Driving test, driving along a level road at 25mph light throttle and you floor the gas pedal the trans should down shift to first gear.
Repeat the drive at 28 mph and floor the gas the trans will down shift to second gear.
This is a correctly adjusted PRESSURE lever cable.
Or you can adjust the cable; with a little slack in the throttle cable; rest a long screwdriver on the end of the trans pressure lever and hold it with one hand;
Use your other hand to start turning open the throttle.
Just at the point the RPM starts to increase, the pressure lever should just barely start to move.

It is nothing very hard to do....loosen 2-12mm jamb nuts to adjust the pressure lever cable travel.
I'm sure that the stupid grease monkeys do it all the time

That doesn't change the shift point however.
You're talking about the cable on the TB correct? That'll just be as if he's constantly revving it up a little bit more.
Tighten it and it'll sit say at 1200 rpm's "idle" with the butterfly partially opened rather than the 700 100% closed.

Adjusting The transmission pressure lever cable is what is being described, NOT adjusting the throttle cable.

I have had customers complain that the vehicle won't achieve high RPM's. No matter how far they push the gas pedal. Coincidently they had just recieved some sort of servie where someone for whatever reason adjusted the kickdown cable. I'd check the cable for proper adjustment.
