Default Auto shift points...Help

i have a 94 auto teg and when i'm driven regular down streets and stuff the car will shift every gear at 3700-4000 rpm's. i thought that was high so i asked a friend and he said normally about 1000 rpm lower. Does anyone know what affects that. maybe ecu or the shift cable is outta adjustment?

Shift cable?

Anyway, there is another computer that controls the automatic transmission. On automatic cars, it's on the left side kick panel (kinda like where the ECU is on the right side).

Lots of things affect how the transmission shifts. Could just be the conditions around you at that point in time. Does it do that all the time?

what "drive" do u use?

when i drive my mom's auto civic, if it's in 2 it wont shift till 6, or D3 if im flooring it, it wont shift till like 4 or 5

she's not a speeder, but i am, so i assume this is normal.. she drives in D4 and it shifts about 3 like a good little civic should

but yea honda's are supposed to shift in the lower 3000's for ur average driver (30 mph in like 10 seconds)

Hm? If it's in "2", then it will always stay in 2nd gear. It will not ever shift. D3, and D4 are drive gears and it will operate through 3rd gear in D3 and 4th gear in D4.
