Hey, Basically I wanted to know if there is a way I can move my Automatic Transmission's shift points around in the RPM range, so I can get it to hold 1st longer?

An easy way to hold first longer or any gear at that would be to get a manual transmission

It seems like these days every question I have I need to include rules for the thread so I don't useless posts. Like three of the above.

Does anyone actually know? Smart-asses, references to Manual Trannys and suggestions involving b-series engines are not appreciated.

I have tried to research this from time to time with no real luck. I first thought about this because on my previous bmw, there was a seperate ecu for the tranny you could modify with an aftermarket ecu chip to change shift points and such, come to find that honda's don't have that and all of it is in the main ecu. Now this is what I was told so if I'm wrong then someone please correct me cuz I would love to be able to modify the shift points on an auto tranny.

The only thing that you can really do to get an sort of performance out of the auto tranny is to go with products from companies such as http://www.LevelTen.com and TCI. Level Ten offers tranny modifications such as beefier components and upgraded torque convertors as with TCI. Wish you the best of luck with this and if you find anything out then please share.

u could always drop it first and then shift into second when ever u want

Who said anything about a B series engine?

Seriously though... you can't deny how much more sense it would make to have the manual transmission for whatever it is you're planning on doing in your automatic.

you can make your automatic shift very hard if you take out the accumulator and replce it with a stiffer spring or a bolt....the accumulator is what cushions your shifts...i know that you can change your shift points but its just hittin me right now...ill get back to you when i can remember.

Hondas have tranny computers too so uberdata wouldnt do anything.

an auto tranny that can shift gear at redline would be alot better for drag racing.

theres a 10.2 sec supra with only around 700hp with a unlocked auto tranny.

some hondas so, but 92-00 civics have the auto tranny controlled by the ecu. there's no separate computer for the auto tranny.

why not just shift manually when you need to?

If your gears go P R N D D3 2, take the console apart, right underneaht (wher ethe 2 is and the stick stops) theres a blokc, remove that block or shave it down so if u hold down into that conrer the car stays in first untill you hit redline. IF u hit redline too soon then ull need to change it.

I am just asking for the time being. In hopes I could slip out a EEPROM or Flashrom, reprogram it and put it back in to gain custom shiftpoints.
