Removing A/C. Does this main unit come out? Pictures
hey guys,
Im removing A/C and was Wondering if this Radiator looking unit
infront of the actual Engine radiator is removed....
Im keeping heat but removing A/C
Already Drained and removed a few of the lines,
Also, Please tell me which lines are removed infront of this unit.

I didnt want to remove it if I needed it for heat.
Also, do ANY of those lines infront bottom used for the heat?
If not, is it ok for me to remove them since their for a/c.
Thanks!

That would be your condensor and yes you can remove it and anything connected to it without any adverse effects to your heating system. The heater uses two heater hoses off the engine and a heater core and blower inside the car under the dash.
Damn that battery looks huge in there.

This man above is right. Its just the AC condenser. All it does is take the high pressure gas/vapor that flows outta the AC compressor, and cools it which turns it into a high pressure liquid and sends it ot the reciever/drier. This peice is only used for the AC, so you can junk it if you want.

hmm..those look kind weird to be PS lines. my PS cooler just did a 180 u turn in front of the condensor. i think those lines are going from the condensor to the dryer maybe?

x2 all of the above... just don't breath in the fumes when you release the freon (green stuff). its toxic and will knock you out and eventually kill you. if you get a headache you know you're too close

Ive heard a good way to do it is to put a pebble on the high or low side fitting and screw the cap on. I however always recover refrigerent via a machine, so Ive never experienced this..
thanks guys,
I un bolted the lines going to the compressor,
It had pressure but No freon, (green stuff)
So IDk. It worked great and blew cold before,
but I unplugged the lines from the firewall but didnt get to the front end yet.
I was surprised It wasnt full of freon, But still blew real cold before.

I removed my AC as well. I removed most of the AC lines but there are still a couple lines that run along the crossmember. I think those are AC lines but I cant remember what they were hooked up to. Oh well, I guess I'll just pull em.
