engine removal
i need to remove my motor out but i got a problem...the ac lines are blocking the way...before you say anything i'll add this. my ac is still fully charged with freon and i would not like to risk letting out the freon (only if this is the last resort) so if anybody has some tricks up their sleeve please help out...
the ac lines runs from the compressor over above the tranny into the firewall...
would i just need to unbolt the ac lines to where it connects to the firewall?
this is on a 90 teg. thanks for any feedbacks n rock on

Remove the radiator, remove the A/C compressor, then ziptie the compressor to the radiator support to keep it out of the way. Then it's classic "by the book" engine removal, as long as you're removing the motor from the bottom of the car. I did one yesterday and I have another one to do tomorrow, All A/C really does is get in the way.
i think its easier pulling the engine out...besides i would have to get the front raised purdy high to drop the motor..thanks for the tip...if i can't do it the way i like it to be..i'll try your way..

Not if you plan on keeping the A/C in the car. Your only real option regarding pulling the motor out is to chain it up really really off center so that you're pulling the motor out almost standing up.

Here's another point of advice, drop the motor to the ground with the hoist, then use the hoist to lift the car high enough to slide the motor out either side.
If you had access to a forklift then I could make your life really easy.

I've pitched motors at about 60 degrees when pulling them out. But your best bet is to lower the motor on the ground and move the car back leaving the motor on the ground.
