Default MAP sensor and VTEC.

Hello, I was wondering if CODE 3 (MAP sensor) malfunctioning has anything to do with VTEC not hitting. I have B16a sirII w/GSR trans, JDM P30 in 95 Coupe EX. Any info would be much appreciated. Thank you.

map sensor problem im suprized the car is running..

did you just do the swap? or has the code just come up?

did you reset the code to see if it comes back?

did you replace the sensor?

map is what controls your fuel.. IT VERY IMPORTANT!

It's been running for awhile actually.. By reset, I turned the car off and turn it back on it goes away for awhile and comes back. I have not replace the sensor yet.. working on it though. MAP controls the fuel? would that be the reason why I get really shitty MPG? I'm getting like 54 miles on 2.8~3 gal.

im having similar problem.

i have h22 in a 96 civic ... i get CEL code 3...

to reset the code, you need to remove the Radio fuse for 30 seconds, then replace.

i get MAP sensor error, and my car runs really bad (LIMP Mode).

I ordered a new map sensor off eBay, that was tested working (I believe them), and when I installed it I get the SAME error as before!!

I checked the ECU wiring, and its all legit. So im just really confused now on what to do ...

suggestions?

I think all likelihood points to my MAP sensor working fine ... maybe i have a similar error to the OP ...

well, since its a Prelude MAP sensor for an H22 ... normally the Prelude MAP sensor is on the firewall ...

but on the civic its on the throttle body, and I think its the same for an Integra (OP's car)

i see, thank you, i will try this ...

but i do have 2 map sensors giving the same error ... maybe the tube is clogged? hmm

well, from reading somewhere else, i don't have a CAT installed on the car ... yet that is ... do you think THAT could be causing the CODE 3 map SENSOR error?

conversion 2 -> 1 (1996 civic to 1995 H22 prelude engine)

I quadruple checked the wiring on the conversion, and it seems to be just as the guides say D3 and D4 going to D17 and D19 on the conversion wiring.

I know how to jump and get the simple codes ... but not sure hwo to get the advanced codes ... which i think can help me .. like

"P0106 Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Range/Performance Problem"

im not sure hwo to get those too . or if i can

unfortunately not ... ut i do have a voltage meter ... do you suggest that I start checking individual volts for each wire relating to the MAP sensor on teh ECU (or at the MAP sensor in the engine itself?)

bump with update.

as per this post

https://honda-tech.com/zero...46478

Here is the flow chart I got from the Honda Manual, and also what results I got so far ...

now, on the final step, I get 4.74V, when I should get 5V. This I think is a problem ... however I have 2 ECU's here, P13, and P28 ... and I get CEL on both ...

so both ECU's give the same ... so Ithink i am goign to have to do some more thinking on thsi one ...
