*Help* how to jack up my civic
I am just getting started with my car and all, I searched the forum, but I only found threads where everybody knew how to do it...
I have a '92 Civic, I wanted to do some work on it, and needed to jack it up to put jack stands underneath, well, simply I don't know where to jack it up and where to put the jack stands I found the pinch behind the front tires (and in front of the back tires), but if I jack it up with my floor jack at that point, where do I put the jack stand?
Can anyone tell me all the points that are re-enforced on the car, where it is ok to jack it up on and to put jack stands underneath?
That would really help me out...

front of the rad support (closer to drivers side) there is a bump (you can see it easily)-jack it up there
on the sides there are metal tabs near near the door and front fender line-stands go there
look for the same tabs on the back end for the rear and jack it up just behind the tow hitch

There is reinforcement right in front of the car. It's under the front bumper just a little right of center and shaped like and "8" or a "B"

I believe the rear tow hook is recommended, too. I've never had a problem using it with the dish on my Craftsman jack.

Yes, there are two tabs that I could use, if I jack it up in the front, then I can put the jack stands on the tabs behind the front tires, right?
That will tilt the car a lot to the side, is that safe to do or do I need two floor jacks? Is there a suspension part where I can jack it up, in the middle of the car so that it doesn't lean to the side?

Absolutely.

It will tilt, but it'll be fine. You can jack the rear up via the towhook and that'll bring the *** up evenly on both sides. As far as the front, just use the frame supports on each side and it'll be fine. No sudden movements and a nice, smooth sweep of the jack arm and you'll be fine.
Now why can't all the new members ask helpful quesions? I vote this as the best noob question yet, and yes, I'm serious. He even searched first!

Check on your Honda supplied scissors jack. It will show you! There are 4 tabs (2 on each just before the rear tires and just after the front tires.) You can jack it up from the radiator support as stated, but DO NOT jack up the car off of the front tow hooks. I promise they will bend!

The Radiator support? What does that look like? Sorry, that is a dumb question for you guys, but I simply don't know....
What about that bar that connects the front suspension? The rear Suspension?

No problem man, most of the people here will flame you if you don't know as much as they do, but some of us are willing to help out. If you look under the car from the front (looking under the front bumper, there will be a peice of metal running across the front of the car (not sure if you can see it with the splash shields on, havnt had mine on in over a year) and look for a little dip down. It is shaped kinda like a B. That is the radiator support and where you should jack it up from. Let us know if you need anymore help.

Ok, splash-shield, I know how to take that off...
If I use the Radiator support, can I jack up the car in the middle so that is doesn'l lean? If so, I just put the jack stands under the tabs behind the front wheels and lower id down carefully, right?
Thanks for helping me, I tried another froum and they just told me to leave because I didn't know enough
THANKS!

Yup, just jack it up in the middle, put the jackstands under the metal tabs behind the front wheels and then lower ir down easy like you said. You are more than welcome here!! If anybody gives you a hard time don't sweat it. There are some people on this board who truly like to help out.
