Default What offset to use?

Before you go saying use the search button, I have. Please tell me what offset you run on your civic. I have looked, and well nothing has come up in the searches i have made. Also, would a +0 offset work? Pics are nice too.

really, you searched all the wheel pic threads, the slammed car threads, the poke threads and the cosmetic/appearance forum threads?

I searched this thread. Not the pic threads. Hence the reason i posted the question here, but thank you for giving me somewhere else to look.

depends what kind of stance you want.. and how much camber you want to run.. yes a 0 offset will work.. if you want to run a -5 camber.. or be lifted and look like a 4x4..

Offset is derived from the width of the wheel. It's not some standard letting you know how much lip a wheel will have. A "0 offset" wheel that's only 5" wide, won't be nearly as difficult to fit on a car as say a "0 offset" wheel on a 9" wide wheel.

You need to do some research on what "offset" means, do some measuring on your car to see what you can fit with/without doing sheet metal work, and figure out what overall goal you have in mind. There's also a thread in the Appearance/Cosmetic forums regarding "Low offset" wheels.

+40 or so is ideal for a Civic.

You'd be okay to run a +30.

Anything more aggressive is a whole other ball game.

LOL.

Terrible looking.

He'd need at least -3 degrees camber to even come close to pulling them off.

Camber and another 1" drop at least.

I was thinking about using +25 offset, but I'm not sure. I like the wheels I want to use, and the will look good when I get my car painted black. I want to use 15x7 with a +25 offset. On my sig car. I will also lower the carwith kyb agx's and some lowering springs when money comes around to do so, thanks for all the help.

If you want to get an idea of how it would fit, just take some measurements. Say you have a 15x6 +45 (like most integra/civic factory 15" wheels). You want to go to a 7" wheel, so the outer edge of the wheel is going to come out 1/2", or ~12.5mm. The new wheel is +25, so 45-25=20mm. 12.5mm+20mm = 32.5mm or just barely >1.25".

Now go out to your car, stick a ruler against the lip of your wheel at the top and measure out 1 1/4". This is where the edge of your new wheel will be. Even easier than starting a thread.

Oh and keep in mind that your tire will be slightly more rounded if you use the same width you have now.

Thats the problem, i dont have the 15" rims, i have the 13" rim that comes with the 4 door dx's. I appreciate everyone chipping in to this though..

Then adjust the formula based off of the width and offset of the 13s you have now. The 15s were an example for you to go off of.

Use an offset between +35mm to +45mm so that the wheels actually fit your car.
