I guess Kuhmo's are going out of stock completely...? I originally ordered a set of SPT's for the $100 of Sale, but they went out of stock right after I ordered.. It was updated on their site a day or two after I ordered..
They gave me a call informing me that they were out of stock, but were expecting a truck with them on board, but when the truck arrived, they weren't on it. He also said that Kuhmo was out of stock, so they didn't have an ETA on when they'd have more in stock.
I just ordered a different tire.. But the still gave me the $100 deal thankfully. I was very pleased with the service even though.

$100 off? Probably never.
However, at least twice in the past ten days, I've seen Discount Tire Direct offering $25 off on a set of four tires. Each time, it's only been valid for a day or two at a time. But considering that their prices are already pretty good (when you take into account the free shipping), that's about a good a deal as you're going to find. So keep checking their website. When they have it, the $25 off appears near the upper left corner of the web page.

the funny thing is, when that deal was offered i was like, "ahh, i don't really need tires right now. i'm not planning on using my 16's anytime soon." in the back of my mind, i was telling myself to buy a set and put them to the side just like you did just in case. and what do you know??i freakin need the tires now
btw, what do you guys recommend for 205/45/16???right now, i'm rolling toyo t1r's on my 15" cpf'g's and damn they've held up forever (i've been on them since 2005. heh, i don't even know how many miles i've put on them. i bought them from onlinetires.com). oh yeah, it's just for daily driving

For daily driving in California (no snow), I would get the Fuzion ZRi ($81/tire at the Tire Rack) or the Kumho SPT ($82 at the Tire Rack but they have less than four in stock, $79.10 at tires-easy.com). Or you could get more T1R for $95/tire.

Not much. Assuming you're referring to the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport, it's not as good as the Kumho SPT or the Fuzion ZRi I recommended above. Worse performance for about the same price - not a good idea.
BTW, you can't link to search results on onlinetires.com so your link doesn't work.

Now through Wednesday, May 21, Discount Tire Direct is offering 10 percent off on a set of tires (or wheels). Not a bad deal, considering that their regular prices are good and they're still giving free shipping.

Wow, nice way of showing that you don't know what you're talking about. There is no sales tax on mail order sales.
And 10 percent is 10 percent. If you're buying a set of tires for $300, it's $30. If you're buying a set of tires for $1000, it's $100. It's 10 percent off on some of the best prices around.
