They do fade if you use the wrong wheel cleaner.
I have 2 sets of Rays lug nuts. Both are black. One set has faded to like silver (this was the set that I used the wrong wheel cleaner), and the other set is still black (learned my lesson from the first set, so I was careful with this set).

Meguiar's Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner. The fine print says it's safe on all clear-coated and painted wheels. Since the Rays lug nuts aren't clear-coated (they're just anodized), the color will fade.
What I found that is safe on the Rays lug nuts is the Eagle One's A-to-Z wheel cleaner. It doesn't attack the anodized color. The safest thing to use (and this is what I've been using for the past couple years) is just car wash soaps like Meguiar's Gold Class wash or NXT car wash.

anyone know about this?
my friend has some on his wrx.. and his has faded to almost a polished look.. some of the lugs are still faded blue but some are like down to the finish which he could polish..
I got mine on order. Reason I went with Rays is because its got a unique locking key (7 sided) which would be very hard to remove in a hurry. They are light weight and purely a bling item, but figured i'd splurge on these seeming how I wanted extended, lightweight, black and locking.
Paid $140 shipped. Got Rays Engineering black valve stems too, $40
