Friend of mine said I should just go with a 195 because the tire won't be stretched as much and will be safer...any truth to this??

The '94-95 GS-R "fat five" is a 15x6 wheel. The best tire size to use on them depends on what kind of car they're going on. If this is for the 1990 Integra mentioned in your sig, that car came with 195/60-14 tires stock. On a '90 Integra (and any other Integra, too), you can use either 195/55-15 or 205/50-15. Both sizes will fit fine on a 15x6 wheel. And both will be safe, and not unduly stretched; most 195/55-15 tires are approved for rims 5.5-7.0 inches wide, and 205/50-15 approved for 5.5-7.5, so both will be fine on the 15x6 wheels, neither will be particularly "stretched".

I didn't think you could get away with 205/50's on 15's. 195/55 seemed more practical. That goes to show how limited my wheel/tire knowledge is. Learnin' something new every day.

205/50-15 works quite well on 15x6. In fact, that's what I've been using for the R compound track tires on my Integra Type R, for the past eight years.

One particular tire is almost an exception, and that's the Falken Azenis RT-615. That's because it is a bit bigger than other tires labeled 205/50-15, so the Azenis in that size tends to "like" a 15x6.5 or even 15x7. Of course, that's exactly the opposite of appearing "stretched". But it can still be used (and safely) on 15x6, and many people do.

Hmm... I'm not going to listen to the ***** at Les Schwab anymore. I'm starting to think they'll just pull any ol' donkey off the street and give them a job. That, and they always "recommend" the most expensive tires they have in stock.
