Default Welding 7075...

I am trying to make an oil pan out of the aluminum supplies that we have on hand(due to budget constraints).

I was wanting to make the mounting flange out of 7075 Al since we have a piece that could be cnc'd to the proper size, and the rest of the pan out of 6061 sheet. 7075 is not usually welded because of the probability of corrosion stress cracks (from an instructor) but would this be a problem for an oil pan application?

thanks,
Parker

5052 h32 or 6061 for flanges

forget about 7075 not a weldable alloy
