thread note for shift knob
hey guys, im currently making a type-r shift **** (on the lathe) in one of my metals classes. I was just wondering if anyone knew the inside diamter and thread note to a stock shift **** on an ek. I just need to know what to tap it out to so it fits on a shifter. Thanx

Nope, not that I know of.

The reason they "rattle" is because the internal threads aren't the same size as the external threads. The internal threads, the ones inside the ****, are slightly bigger than the threads on the shift lever. The ones that are probably going to rattle more are the metal ones. The plastic ones can be made to a closer dimension so when you thread the **** on the shift lever it kind of cuts/forms the plastic to match closer so it doesn't rattle. If you were to try that one metal ***** it would just get stuck and not go on any further.
