Shifter Console
So I started with a sheet of aluminum. Traced out a design in cardboard, and then made a 3d model. After finding the right design I traced it to the aluminum and then cut it out with a dremel. I used some rivets and aluminum to hold the shape and applied some wax to ensure the mold came out right. I used a sheet of carbon fiber Kevlar and laid 1 layer. Then applied 5 layers of fiberglass cloth and applied apoxy after every layer. Anyways this is the project.
I made it for my 93 Civic hatch. I have a 97 prelude shifter in it so the origional one didnt fit without cutting holes in the sides. Looked tacky so I made this one. As far as reproducing them I threw out the mold, so I mean I can make another, but I kinda wanted a one of a kind item. here are some pics of the finished installed console. Minus the boot I need to make for it. Also my shifter, which is too big for the stock cover.
Oh and up for sale is an extra perfect condition cover for a 92-95. All components work and the is next to no scratches on the surface. Boot is still perfect as well.
