Default H22 Swap In EG - Problem with interior Console PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got done with a H22 into a EG Hatch which went well but the problem is that the shifter console won't bolt up correctly. The shifter brackets are larger than the original Civic ones. Does anyone know if another Honda Shifter Console will fit? Or what mods should I do?

Cut the console or shave down the bracket?
By doing this do you think the short shifter will fit also?

I've got pics of how I did mine, looks oem. I will post pics later tonight! Just like everyone else said just greak out the dremel and start trimming where needed, you will lose your factory cup holders though....

Or you could go and get a accord shifter you will not have to shave anything and you will not look like your driving an 18wheeler (the height of the prelude shifter. hope that this helps

You just have to kind hallow out where the cup holders are so the cables go through...

The Accord shifter has a shorter shaft and a smaller base so the console is easier to use. Only problem is the Accord shifters are sometimes hard to find, at least that was the case for me...

wtf are you talking about man?! my prelude shifter looks nothing like some huge trucker shifter. in fact, i actually have my interior looking 100% stock (cuz im playing my EK off like its a stock d16y7, not an h22a

well the shifter that is IN my accord was taller than the prelude one i put in my civic.
the baseplate was damn near identical. and accord shfiters are easy as hell to find since any salvage yard that has imports will have a few accords around. i found it hard to find prelude shifters since there are so few preludes built compared to accords.

are your lude bases not giant pieces of plastic? the one i took out of my 97 sh is huge compared to the small metal base of the accord base. maybe its just the new body style ludes that have the humungo bases

the 97+ shifter is a mess thats why no one uses it....the 92-96 are shorter and ALL metal.

All the shifters depend on their years as to how they look!

92-96 lude shifters, accord 90, accord 91-93 and accord 94-97 are all pretty similar, and th actual shift lever is interchangeable with slight differences on teh baseplates. 97+ lude stuff went all plasticy and crappy for swaps.
