rwd del sol build
recently started work again on my del sol. the care was given to my boss , so we decided to do a rwd, v8 del sol .
so we did it !
she now sits with a chevy 4.3 vortec motor with a rare factory 4 barrel intake manifold. gasket matched ports . intake and ex . with a th400 transmission built with heavy duty cltches and sprage. stock 454 torque converter. putting the power to the ground is a chevy s-10 rear end with 4.10 gears and a full spool.
50 shot of bottle fed goodness !
frame consists of a 2x3 square tubing frame , with a roll bar . yes targa top is still functional .
front suspension is a total custom set'up built with multiple parts from various vehicles.
4 wheel disk , running a 50 series tire in the rear ! better than that we didnt even have to tub it !
as far as interior goes , we couldve gone with stock dash board and all with slight mods to the carpet for tranny tunnel , but we opted for more of a race care feel since our car came with no interior pieces.
will be posting pics as soon as i get the camera to take a charge .

Re: rwd del sol build
apologize for the delay , yes i do have a life lol my damn ef tried killing me today ..
and yes i said 4.3 which is NOT a v8 we originally planned to go v8 and we can very easily fit a 454 into this car, but as short as the whellbase is , we decided on going with the 4.3 platform.
and i said try to get the camera to take a chage, which by that i meant , its not wanting to take a charge . but i got cheap cell phone pics im trying to upload right now.

4.3 is a v6 engine buddy. now what you should do is pull that POS vortec engine out and put in a 3.8T from a regal t type or grand national. then it will be a "fun" car.

Op if this build actually happened and you have pics PM me and I'll reopen this thread. Honestly this whole thing just sounds like complete BS. You might be able to shoehorn a 4.3L in Del Sol, but a 454 I'd say you're going to have move the firewall back, a lot.
