Default removing dullness from aluminum

was wondering if/how to remove that dullness from surrounding aluminum welds.. would a simple wire brush do the job? what material brush?

its purely asthetics, but just curious.

brass bristle brush or gray 3m scotch-bright pad... both remove the oxide layer without leaving deep scratches in case you decide to buff later.

I use a medium sanding sponge. Gets rid of the white stuff w/o tearing up the weld because it is flexible.
