Use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the glue. Then use a putty with duct tape on the end. Move the putty knife slowley to make sure you don't scrape off the paint underneath the badge. After you remove the badges clean off the excess glue with bug and tar remover. Then use the heat gun to soften any stubborn deposits of glue.Wipe off the ares thoroughly with a soft cloth. Ant then use car wax to remove any oxidation and to seal the paint.

i dont know about using a putty knife but using a heat gun works very well. behind your emblems are two sided adhesive. you can heat the adhesive up and it will come off alot easier than trying to pull it off otherwise. do not apply direct heat to the area...sweep back and forth. in the past ive used dental floss and a heat gun. be aware that some emblems have guide plugs (those holes behind the honda H) because they are used as guides in the assembly process.

heat gun or a rubber eraser that attaches to the end of a drill (yes there is such a device) will work for pin striping

hope this helps
