There is actually a reserve tank, it just doesn't look like a tank. The piston is single acting. Which means the oil pushes it out, and you push it back in. At least on my jacks the piston is like 2 or 3 inches in diameter, and the piston cylinder is the same 3 inches in diameter. If you notice the outside diameter of the jack is like 6 inches in diameter. That area in between is your oil storage tank. It is the area between the two coaxial cylinders. Sort of neat how they hid it!

Here's a 1 1/2 inch to 2 incher for $27K http://www.hinesbending.com/150nc.htm

3 inch bender for $28K http://home.flash.net/~dgjco/N...0.htm
2 and 3 incher for $40K http://www.hinesbending.com/200nc.htm

3 to 4 incher for $50K http://www.hinesbending.com/300nc.htm

Great primer on bending pipe and tubing: http://www.hinesbending.com/Tu...e.htm

Here is the quality of the bends:

Old school way....

What I used to do in the past is get two drum brakes and clamp them down to the table with bunch of C-clamps. Take a "rose-bud" and heat up the portion of the pipe you want to bend and slowly bend around the drum brakes till you get to the angle you want.

We just got our hines 300 cnc mandrel bender fired up today. It's a bit bigger then the old Pines benders (that's #2 to the left). It cost more then double the 300NC tho.

That's a nice image of a true mandrel tube bender, simular to what I use which includes a collet, all the axes servo's and all the necessary dies. for 70k looks pretty good compared to the 500k that I use, eagle , oh yea btw.. for whomever is interested in bending tubing w/ a mandrel, it's not easy.. there's a lot of troubleshooting that goes a long w/ it, and theory on how a mandrel bender works, trust me you can ruin a really expensive machine easily so make sure you understand the basics on how everything works before tackling a job. I've bent the rod due to putting the mandrel foward and it hit the c axes servo arm, broke plenty of bend ***** do to unproper alignment, I think I ruined at least 10k worth of tooling lol
