Do some of you guys increase the flow so you can weld with more amperage? (and not overheat the weld area)

Its odd, because I have never found it personally necessary to run over ~25cfh

@ Boosted B, personally I float around between 20-25 with large gas lens. Seems to work for me. what are you trying to put more heat into? pipe, plate?

I only turned it up because the cup flares out. I usually run 12-20cfm. My regulator is kinda wonky so im not sure what it "really" is. I also had the tungsten sticking out at least an inch.

A tad late, but most major cities have welding supply stores such as AirGas, etc. Google it.

I know I'm bringing this thread back up, but I have a miller diversion 165 and bought the foot pedal for it. I'm wanting to change the torch out for something a little smaller/less bulky then what it came with. Is this possible? I believe this torch is a LS17. What torches do I look at? 17 series? Sorry for the newbie questions. Thanks in advance.

Try a #9, but on AC welding it will burn the fu*k up quickly being air cooled.

Does anyone has the part numbers to make a #9 torch work with a #12 cup?

Ignore the highlighted sections.

You need :

1x 54N63 - Insulator
1x 45V64 - Large gas lens (3/32") (or 45V116 for 1/16" electrode)
1x 53N87 - #12 Large diameter cup

Hope that helps.
