New Welding Thread!
If there was a fabrication forum i could post a topic like...
"Where to get 3" 2 bolt Stainless Exhaust Flanges ????!?!?!!"
However, im stuck here in this neverending thread asking this question...
...So does anyone have any ideas on these flanges?

How about a Millermatic 175? or how about a hobart handler 175 MIG welder...
those two id look at..cuz they are good quality brands! and good welding..and its in your price range!

ok, i forgot about imagestation.. pics of some of my newest welds/manis.. They're not quite done yet, but getting there
imagestation is killing my bw already, or something.

Plasma cutters own. Just have to put some metal pieces on the back side of the cut, so splatter doesnt get all over the place. I cut all my holes w/plasma, so far so good. On a time:money ratio I dont have a choice. Spend 15 seconds cutting a hole w/plasma cutter, or 30 min, and two hole saws cutting w/ a drill press. Oh, and having the drill bind up, send you and the manifold against the wall...lol.
So ya, plasma cutter.
So ya, plasma cutter.
i use a plasma, and then hand finish the cut with a carbide grinder....
are my pics showing up for you guys?
if not, you can checkm here

i too very soon will have the delema of making a hole for the tubo flange on my custom log manifold. i wish my plasma worked here, but it hasn't in ages.. so i guess ol' faithfull hole saw will have to do. (i get alittle to exited with the tourches) heh

checkout the current deal on a lincoln sp175+ definitely a better machine then the mm175 but the hh175 comes in a close second(only tapped voltage) at http://www.weldingsupply.com
If you're afraid the 175 machines might be under powered, you can always step up to a mm210 for about $1200-$1300 w/o the spoolgun(depends on the special miller has on at the time) Normally though with proper prep and a couple of passes you should be able to weld just about anything on the car with a 175 especially with the sp175+. I don't own one yet but I have tried out all 3 machines and I thought the lincoln stood out the best.

redline, why did you like the linc over the mm? and do you know how long theyre going to have that sale on for? also do you know what type of gas input it takes, is it just a nipple on the back of the machine, ir is it a screw in fitting?
I liked the mm but because of its somewhat "self driving" speed control mechanism, it felt like I had no control over it. The sp175+ has a continous voltage setting on it and you can pick what speed to set it at which allowed me to feel like I could fine tune the machine alot better to create much better welds then what I could do with the mm. Honestly, if the lincoln is way out of your range the HH175 is a great pic and the only thing you're really sacrficing is duty cycle.
Oh, and about the sale, I've been watching that site for over a year now and the price has never changed. $689+5 or 10 for shipping is a great deal and you won't be able to beat it. Trust me, I've already tried. You can be fluxcore welding right out the box or MIGging for $750-800 with a great machine. It's like I've told someone else on here before: miller and hobart have great machines no matter what but lincoln just can't be beat when you compare the 175+ with other machines in the same class. If you want to step it up a notch though, get a MM210.
